11+ practice from Year 3 to exam day

A daily plan that gets your child ready for the 11+

11+ Mocker is a practice app for the 11+ entrance exam. Your child follows a short daily plan: lessons on the things they got wrong, a timed mock, vocabulary and reading. You get a private parent view that shows what they can do, what they cannot yet, and what to do about it.

What happens when your child gets a question wrong

Most apps show the right answer and move on. 11+ Mocker explains the mistake your child actually made, in plain words, then shows the working one step at a time.

7

Work out 1.3 ÷ 2.

A6.5
B0.65
C6.1
D0.615
Why 6.5 is wrong
The decimal point has moved. Sharing 1.3 into 2 parts gives an answer smaller than 1.3.
Golden rule
Keep the decimal point in the answer directly above the decimal point in the number. If there is a remainder, add a zero and keep dividing.

What a day looks like

The app opens on today's plan, and the plan fits the child. For a child at school in the final weeks, that is about two hours on a school evening and a full rehearsal at the weekend. For a home educated child it can be the full study day in three blocks. With a year or more to go it shrinks to 45 minutes of lessons, words and one stint. You can move every block in the parent tower, around clubs, other classes and your rest day. Items tick off as they are done.

1

Lessons from their own mistakes

Every question your child gets wrong becomes a short lesson: the idea explained simply, the rule to remember, why their answer was wrong, and three questions to check it has stuck. They write the rule in their own words first.

2

A timed mock, in sections

Comprehension with written answers, English skills, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, and a timed piece of creative writing. Each section is marked straight away, with model answers and targets for next time.

3

Words and reading

Fifteen vocabulary cards a day. Words your child knows come back after longer gaps, and words they miss come back tomorrow. Thirty minutes of reading, ticked off.

What is inside

Questions that never run out

Maths, English skills, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning have thousands of different questions per topic, so your child never sees the same one twice. Non-verbal reasoning is drawn fresh each time: series, odd one out, reflections, rotations, analogies, grid puzzles and codes. Five levels, from Starter to Stretch, and the level moves up as your child improves.

Every wrong answer explained

Each wrong option matches a mistake children really make, so the app can say which one your child made, then show the working one step at a time.

Working, not guessing

A working-out pad sits beside every maths question. Some questions ask for a typed answer with no options to guess from. A notebook holds every rule your child has written in their own words.

Survives bad internet and interruptions

One tap pauses the clock. It also stops by itself if the internet drops or someone calls your child away, and a closed laptop picks up on the same question later.

Comprehension and writing, properly marked

Original passages with written answers marked against a mark scheme, the way a school would. Creative writing is marked out of 25, with what worked, three targets, and one of your child's own sentences rewritten at scholarship level.

Extras you can switch on or off

Creative writing, memorisation, daily reading, and points and badges are all included in the price. Untick any your family does not want, for each child, and they disappear from the screens and the daily plan.

Memorisation

Learn any text word for word: Bible verses (great for Pathfinder Bible Experience), Qur'an passages, poems for school, lines for a play or a speech. Paste it in and the app turns it into fill-the-gap and put-in-order drills, brought back just before they would be forgotten.

The parent tower

The parent tower is your private view of your child's work, locked with a PIN, on your own phone or laptop. It opens on what needs your attention today.

What you see
  • Readiness traffic lights for every area, with one next step each
  • An action alert when work is being skipped, with how to recover
  • Live view while they work, with the correct answer showing
  • Every session and every piece of writing, with the feedback
  • A timetable editor for your week: other classes, rest days, rehearsal days
  • A test mode, so you can try any question yourself without it counting as your child's work

Plain answers

Which 11+ exams?Independent school entrance papers, GL Assessment and CEM. Choose yours and the mock sections and timings follow it.
What age?Year 3 to Year 6. Put in the exam date and the plan sets itself: 40 minutes a day of lessons and words plus 30 minutes of reading with years to go, about an hour and a half a day plus reading in the final year, and a four hour a day sprint with a daily full mock in the last ten weeks. Levels run from Starter (Year 3 and 4 work: times tables, halves and quarters, simple codes, short passages) up to scholarship Stretch.
Phone, tablet or laptop? All three. The working pad works with a finger or a pen.
Your child's dataFirst name only. No date of birth, no school. Your email is the account.
Does it need the internet?Only to sync and to mark written work. Questions, lessons and drills run on the device.
Who marks the writing?Automatic marking against a mark scheme, with a daily limit you control, and self-marking when the limit is reached.

Questions parents ask

How many questions are there?

Each maths and reasoning topic has more than 13,000 different questions. English skills draw on a bank of about 400 items and 220 ambitious words. Comprehension uses original passages, and new ones are added when your child has used them all.

How is this different from a workbook?

A workbook gives the answer. 11+ Mocker tells your child why their answer was wrong, teaches the rule, and checks they can use it. It also tells you, the parent, where the gaps are and what to do next, so you are never guessing.

What if my child is behind?

The diagnostic sets a fair level in each topic, and the level moves as they go. The plan is heavier on lessons in the first weeks and lighter in the final week before the exam.

Can two parents use the tower?

Yes. Both of you sign in to the same family account and use the PIN, on any device.
